Long time ago, dogs used to live in the forest just like the wolves. They were nobody’s servant but their own master. However, one day, a dog realizes that he does not like this constant life of struggle.
He does not like looking for food all the time. Similarly, he is fed up of being scared of bigger and stronger animals. So, he decides to find out a solution. He thinks that becoming the servant of the strongest animal will solve his problem.
He keeps walking and meets a big wolf. The wolf asks as to where he is going. He tells the wolf that he is looking for someone whom he wants to serve. Thus, he asks if the wolf would be interested in becoming his master.
The wolf agrees and they start walking. However, when they come across a bear, the wolf quickly hides behind a bush. This surprises the dog as he asks what the matter was. So, the wolf tells him that the bear can eat both of them.
Upon seeing that the bear scares the wolf, the dog leaves him behind and goes on to become the bear’s servant. Similarly, he finds out that the bear is afraid of the lion. So, he leaves the bear to serve the lion.
The lion becomes his master and they start living happily. This goes on for a long time and the dog is content with his good life. He is now the servant of the strongest beast as nobody dared to mess with the dog.
However, one day, as they are walking side by side on a narrow path, the lion smells the scent of a human. He asks the dog to run away with him so as to protect themselves from the man.
Finally, the dog realizes the even the lion is scared of the human. So, he bids adieu to the lion and goes to the man. Ever since the dog has been serving humans and has been its loyal servant. To sum it up, the dog now knows no other master than a man.
